Dayforce to acquire Ribbon AI, whose voice agent has run over 1M job interviews

Dayforce has signed an agreement to acquire Ribbon AI, a Toronto-based recruiting startup whose voice AI interviewer has completed more than one million candidate interviews. The HR software company announced the deal on Friday, October 23, and did not disclose the purchase price or when it expects the transaction to close.

Dayforce said Ribbon's technology will be built natively into its new Dayforce Agentic Recruiting experience once the deal closes, giving customers AI tools to source, screen, evaluate and engage candidates. Ribbon reports hundreds of customers, and Dayforce said the technology has been tested across as many as 30 million candidates within a single applicant tracking system.

Ribbon's core product is a conversational voice AI that runs two-way screening interviews around the clock. It generates interview questions and a scoring rubric from a job description, evaluates candidates from interview transcripts, and runs integrity checks that flag unusual audio, gaze and response-timing patterns.
