LG CNS has completed construction of a hyperscale AI data center in Jakarta, Indonesia, the company said on November 2. The LG Group IT affiliate said it is the first time a South Korean company has built an AI data center for an overseas client.
The facility starts with 30 megawatts of capacity, and LG CNS said it is preparing to scale total power capacity to as much as 400 MW. The company said the center supports high-performance computing on next-generation graphics processing units, though it did not name a GPU model or count.
The client is KMG, a joint venture between Indonesia's Sinar Mas Group and Korea Investment Real Asset Management Co. LG CNS did not disclose a cost for the completed project.

LG CNS first announced the contract in August 2025, valuing it at 100 billion won, or about $72 million. At the time, the company described an 11-story building holding more than 100,000 servers, with KMG planning to expand it to 220 MW in later phases. LG Electronics was slated to supply cooling technology and LG Energy Solution battery systems for backup power.
When the deal was signed, LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-gyoon framed the Jakarta project as a starting point for more work in the region.
“We will use this project as a springboard to expand our AI data center business further in Indonesia”— Hyun Shin-gyoon, CEO of LG CNS
Indonesian outlet detikInet reported in October that the site was nearly finished and scheduled to begin trials on December 1. Mark Mansik Won, president director of PT LG CNS Indonesia, told the outlet the facility is meant to serve outside customers rather than LG CNS's own workloads.
LG CNS now plans to take its AI data center business to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. The company also said it will offer subscription-based GPU services and liquid cooling infrastructure, and expand into the AI factory sector.
No timeline was given for the expansion beyond 30 MW or for the new markets. KMG remains the only customer LG CNS has named for the Jakarta site.
