Lovable, the Stockholm vibe-coding startup, signed an expanded multiyear deal with Google Cloud on Wednesday that will lift its footprint on the platform roughly 5x, including AI usage. Neither company disclosed the dollar value, but the agreement widens Lovable's access to Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini models, plugs the startup's agent into Google's enterprise marketplace, and bolts on security tooling from Wiz. The scale here matters: Lovable crossed $400 million in annualized revenue in February, having added $100 million in a single month with just 146 employees.
The Claude piece of the deal is the most strategically loaded. Google put $10 billion into Anthropic in April in cash and compute credits, with another $30 billion conditional on Anthropic hitting performance targets. That investment was struck at a $350 billion valuation, one month before Anthropic raised $65 billion at a valuation approaching $1 trillion. Routing more of Lovable's coding workload through Claude pushes Anthropic closer to the milestones Google is paying for.
Lovable is exactly the kind of customer that moves those numbers. The company claims more than half of Fortune 500 companies use its product in some capacity, and its revenue trajectory — from a standing start to $400 million annualized — is among the fastest on record in Europe. A 5x increase in cloud and model consumption from a customer growing this quickly is a meaningful contribution to both Google Cloud's run rate and Anthropic's usage-based revenue.
Key facts
- 01Lovable's multiyear deal raises its Google Cloud footprint roughly 5x, including AI usage on Claude and Gemini.
- 02Lovable crossed $400M in annualized revenue in February, adding $100M in a single month with 146 employees.
- 03Lovable's agent will be sold through Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery marketplace.
- 04Lovable will integrate with Wiz, Google's $32B acquisition that closed in March, for real-time code security.
- 05Google has committed $10B to Anthropic in April plus another $30B if performance targets are hit, at a $350B valuation.
The deal also routes Lovable's new agent through Google Cloud's enterprise agent marketplace, the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery. The two companies first telegraphed that arrangement at Google's U.S. cloud conference in April. The pitch to enterprise buyers is simpler procurement and billing — Lovable's agent appears in the same catalog as Google's own offerings, with consolidated invoicing through the cloud relationship customers already have.
On the security side, Lovable will integrate with Wiz, the cloud-security firm Google bought for $32 billion in its largest-ever acquisition. That deal closed in March, a year after it was announced. The Wiz hookup is designed to identify and remediate security problems in real time across the code that both human developers and Lovable's agents produce — a direct response to the well-known issue that AI-generated code can ship with subtle vulnerabilities.
For Google, the calculus is straightforward arithmetic on the cloud business. The company plans to spend $180 billion to $190 billion in capital expenditures this year on AI infrastructure. It is in the process of selling a record $85 billion in equity to cover part of that bill, leaving roughly $100 billion still to fund. Keeping fast-growing customers like Lovable on the platform, and keeping Anthropic's models inside Google Cloud, is how that math closes — a thread AI Chat Daily covered when Alphabet announced the $85 billion raise.
Lovable's position in this arrangement is unusual. The company is small enough to still call itself a startup but already commands enough usage to be a real lever for both Google Cloud and Anthropic. By concentrating its compute and model spend with one provider in exchange for distribution through the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery and a security tie-up with Wiz, Lovable trades some optionality for enterprise reach it would struggle to build on its own.
The risk for Lovable is the concentration itself. A 5x increase in Google Cloud footprint means deeper dependency on one vendor's pricing, one vendor's availability, and the continued health of the Google-Anthropic relationship. If Anthropic's commercial terms with Google shift, or if Gemini's price-performance pulls workloads away from Claude inside Lovable's stack, the economics of this deal change. The company has not disclosed how it has structured commitments to manage that exposure.
The broader signal is that the AI coding market is consolidating into a small number of distribution channels. Lovable joining the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery puts it alongside Google's first-party agents in the same procurement flow, which favors startups willing to align with a hyperscaler over those trying to sell direct. For enterprises buying agents, fewer vendors and fewer invoices is the feature. For independent agent companies, the marketplace is becoming the channel, and the channel has a landlord.
