Nvidia is deploying a new GeForce RTX 5080-powered GeForce NOW server in Toronto, extending its top-tier cloud gaming tier deeper into Canada. The company said the node will roll out within days of its July 9, 2026 announcement, giving Ultimate members in the region dedicated access to RTX 5080-class hardware streamed over the network. It is the latest anchor point in a buildout aimed at putting frontier GPU performance within low-latency range of every major North American market.
The Toronto server pushes up to 4K resolution and beyond on supported ultrawide displays, up to 120 frames per second, and Nvidia's DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and Reflex latency-reduction stack. Ultimate members can pull that feed onto PCs, Macs, handhelds, mobile devices, and TVs — a spread that increasingly makes the local GPU optional for the players Nvidia is targeting.
The economics matter for Nvidia's broader AI story. GeForce NOW is one of the few consumer-facing showcases for the same RTX-class silicon that anchors its data center business, and every new regional node is a live demonstration that GPU compute delivered over the network can meet the latency bar of interactive gaming. If cloud gaming works at 120fps in Toronto, cloud inference at scale is a much easier sell to enterprise customers a few floors up in the same buildings.

Canada has become an unusually busy market for AI infrastructure this quarter. The Toronto server lands weeks after Meta committed C$13B to a new Alberta data center — its first in Canada — which AI Chat Daily covered earlier this month. The pattern is consistent: hyperscalers and GPU platform owners are placing bets on Canadian power, land, and network capacity rather than adding more density in already-saturated US regions.
Alongside the server news, Nvidia rolled out an update to NTE: Neverness to Everness on the service. Version 1.2, branded '999 Nights,' adds a permanent tabletop-inspired mode set on the Warren Continent, two new characters (Shinku and Iroi), 19 new outfits, and a motorcycle vehicle called Draco. GeForce NOW will soon add native touch controls for the game on mobile, one of the more concrete tests of whether cloud streaming can substitute for a locally installed mobile client.
Three titles join the library this week: Esports Manager 2026 launched on Steam on July 6, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced arrives on Steam and Ubisoft Connect on July 9, and the Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok Demo is available on Steam. The Relink expansion adds the Ragnalia storyline, the Beelzebub boss encounter, summon abilities, co-op quest tiers, and a solo mode.
The Toronto rollout also serves as a distribution test for Nvidia's premium tier. Ultimate is the SKU that carries RTX 5080-class output, and the Toronto node is exclusively provisioned for it. Nvidia is effectively using regional expansion to segment demand: the closer a player lives to a 5080 node, the more the Ultimate subscription price becomes a straightforward substitute for a several-thousand-dollar local GPU refresh.
The service still faces the structural limits of cloud gaming. Latency-sensitive genres remain harder to serve outside dense metros, subscription churn in cloud gaming has historically been brutal, and Nvidia's competitors in the streaming category continue to shrink or reposition. A single new server in Toronto does not resolve any of those questions, and Nvidia has not disclosed subscriber counts for GeForce NOW that would let outside observers judge unit economics.
For Nvidia, GeForce NOW is a strategic asset that punches above its revenue line. It keeps the company in direct contact with end users, gives it a real-world workload to tune network stacks and driver software against, and — critically — normalizes the idea that RTX compute is something you rent by the hour from a nearby data center. Every RTX 5080 server node Nvidia lights up is a small argument for the same thesis it is selling to hyperscalers building far larger clusters just down the highway.
