ServiceNow and OpenAI expanded their partnership on October 28, 2026, giving OpenAI agents a route into ServiceNow workflows through ServiceNow Action Fabric. The deal covers a ChatGPT plugin, a joint cybersecurity product, Codex-based developer tooling, and voice-driven AI governance.
The first piece is available now. A ServiceNow MCP plugin in the OpenAI marketplace lets users take governed actions in ServiceNow from inside ChatGPT, such as finding similar IT incidents, assessing change risk, and updating records. ServiceNow expects enhanced plugin capabilities by the end of 2026, and a preview will add richer interactive experiences.
On security, the companies are building a joint product that pairs OpenAI's cybersecurity capabilities with ServiceNow's asset, access, and enterprise context. It targets vulnerability triage and attack-path mitigation, where a single codebase scan can surface 10,000 to 100,000 or more vulnerabilities. The OpenAI-powered security capabilities enter early access in January 2027, with general availability planned for the second quarter of 2027.
