Export supports up to 4K resolution at 60fps in H.264 or H.265.

What the free tier doesn't include is a clean export: KineMaster stamps a watermark onto free exports, shows ads during editing, and restricts access to most of the 75,000-plus items in the Asset Store (effects, transitions, stickers, fonts, and stock footage). That's the entire paywall — there's no feature-gating beyond the watermark, ads, and asset library, which is a narrower restriction than a lot of competing apps apply.

KineMaster has added nine AI-powered tools in recent versions: Magic Remover for background removal, Super Resolution for upscaling low-quality footage, Auto Captions supporting 36 languages, AI Voice for text-to-speech narration, AI Tracking that locks effects to moving subjects without manual keyframing, AI Style for artistic filters, Noise Remover, Vocal Separation for splitting a track into vocals and instrumentals, and Music Match for on-device song recommendations. According to KineMaster's own support documentation, these features require a device with at least 4GB of RAM — on lower-spec phones, some or all of the AI tools simply won't appear in the interface.

KineMaster Premium removes the watermark and ads and unlocks the full Asset Store. Apple's App Store listing shows monthly pricing that varies by region — commonly cited figures put it around $9.99/month or $49.99/year in the U.S. as of August 2026, though Apple's own in-app-purchase list shows regional variants running from roughly $8.49 to $11.99 monthly and $49.99 to $59.99 annually. There's no one-time purchase option; removing the watermark requires staying subscribed, and canceling reverts exports to the watermarked, ad-supported free tier once the paid period ends.

One notable subscription mechanic: a single Premium subscription, linked through a free KineMaster account, works across up to five devices spanning both iOS and Android. That's a meaningfully better deal for anyone editing on both a phone and a tablet, or across a small team, than most competitors that tie a subscription to one platform or one device. It's not compatible with Google Play's Family Library, though, so households can't split the cost that way. Premium subscribers also get Spring — a separate, simpler video editor KineMaster also publishes — at no additional cost.

The biggest structural limitation is platform: KineMaster has no desktop or web version. Everything happens on a phone or tablet, which is a deliberate design choice but a real constraint for anyone who wants to finish an edit on a larger screen. There's also no lifetime or one-time-purchase tier — competitors like VivaVideo sell a standalone watermark-removal purchase for users who don't want an ongoing subscription, while KineMaster requires staying subscribed indefinitely to keep clean exports. And the 4GB RAM requirement for AI features means budget devices lose access to roughly a third of the app's headline capabilities.

Against CapCut, KineMaster's advantage is depth: a genuine multi-layer timeline and audio mixer versus CapCut's more template- and trend-driven workflow, though CapCut has generally been more generous with watermark-free export on its free tier. Against VivaVideo — another QuVideo-family editor with a similarly long history — KineMaster's Google Play listing discloses no third-party data sharing, a cleaner disclosure than VivaVideo's, and its reviews show fewer recurring complaints about subscription billing or customer support response times. Against desktop-class mobile tools like LumaFusion, KineMaster is easier to learn but has a shallower project-file interoperability story, since LumaFusion targets the same multi-track precision on iOS but with export options built around professional finishing workflows.

KineMaster's refund policy is stricter than many subscription apps: cancellations requested within 48 hours of a new purchase or renewal are eligible for a refund through Google Play or Apple's standard channels, but after that window, KineMaster's support team evaluates refund requests case by case rather than granting them automatically. Canceling a subscription doesn't end access immediately — like most app-store subscriptions, you keep Premium until the paid period runs out, and simply deleting the app without canceling through Google Play or the App Store will not stop billing.

The account system is also worth understanding before subscribing on a shared or family device. Because Premium is tied to a KineMaster account rather than to a specific Google or Apple ID, losing access to that account — for instance, if it gets deleted or a household member sets up a new one — unlinks the subscription from your devices even though the underlying Google Play or App Store purchase is still active. KineMaster's own FAQ recommends creating an account early and keeping its login credentials somewhere durable, specifically to avoid this failure mode.

KineMaster's free tier is unusually complete for the category — the watermark, ads, and locked asset store are the entire paywall, with no feature gating on the actual editing tools. For anyone doing regular mobile editing across more than one device, the five-device Premium subscription is a genuinely good deal at roughly $9.99/month. The absence of a desktop version and a one-time purchase option are the two clearest reasons to look elsewhere, but as a pure mobile NLE, it remains one of the more capable options on either app store.
